A hands-on learning experience where students discovered the artistry, symbolism, and cultural heritage behind fine jewellery at L’ÉCOLE Middle East.

FAD students recently had the opportunity to visit the Poetry of Birds exhibition at L’ÉCOLE Middle East, School of Jewelry Arts, supported by Van Cleef & Arpels, located in Dubai Design District.
Students received a guided tour that offered an in-depth walkthrough of the exhibition, with particular emphasis on artistic symbolism, craftsmanship, and the historical narratives embedded in each curated piece.
The exhibition features a remarkable selection of gouaché drawings, fine jewellery, and artistic works from renowned maisons such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, and Boucheron, presented alongside significant Middle Eastern artworks. Highlighting the symbolism of birds across cultures, the exhibit gave students an enriching perspective on the intersection of jewellery, art, heritage, and literature within luxury craftsmanship.
Beyond observing exquisite creations, students gained valuable exposure to storytelling through design and curation, exploring how traditional artistry blends with contemporary interpretations.
