FAD partners with MAF to support Egyptian Designers

FAD & Majid Al Futtaim launched an incubator programme for upcoming Egyptian Designers, concluding with a runway show at Mall of Egypt showcasing their latest collections.

With a vision to support the creative economy of Egypt, FAD & Majid Al Futtaim launched an incubator programme to mentor and support 14 emerging Egyptian Designers with stocking opportunities, PR and more.

Over the last two months, FAD conceived and executed tailored mentoring sessions for the designers covering Design Development, Fashion Business, PR, Fashion Styling & Creative Direction. The programme saw sessions from key industry insiders such as Mickey Boardman, Editorial Director - Paper Magazine NY & Sally Singer, Fashion Director - Amazon and other industry mentors.

The programme concluded with a spectacular runway show at Mall of Egypt showcasing a diverse lineup of their collections, each one redefining fashion on their own terms. The outfits ranging from Streetwear to Couture were styled by FAD Alumna Nada Hussam and assisted by FAD Styling Talents.

The collections featured avant-garde silhouettes blended in stark hues with gleaming fabrics and exaggerated patterns, and styled with imposing headgear & masks.

Following the runway show, two designers - Nashe Collection & MEROË were awarded as the winners to receive a retail space in Mall of Egypt and a Lookbook shoot conceived and funded by FAD Dubai.

This was followed by a Gala Night wherein designers, industry insiders & exclusive guests could network and interact the fashion industry that could open doors for opportunities and collaborations.

The event was a raging success owing to the blend of design, creativity & style, along with the meticulous ideation, planning & execution by the team involved.
