FAD unveils Students at Dubai Fashion Week SS27
FAD Institute of Luxury, Fashion & Style brought the spotlight to over 20 emerging design talents, showcasing their creativity on the Dubai Fashion Week runway.

FAD Institute of Luxury, Fashion & Style showcased the work of over 20 of its emerging design talents at Dubai Fashion Week SS27, twenty collections moving through a shifting range of moods. The show opened with soft, feminine looks before moving into bolder territory, with sharper tailoring, darker colours and more structured silhouettes. A few collections also brought in 3D printing, adding an experimental, technical edge to the runway.

The palette travelled with the show, beginning in soft neutrals and earthy tones, moving through pinks and oranges, and deepening into darker shades. Across all twenty collections, textile manipulation, embellishment and sculptural construction tied the show together, balancing wearable and artistic, and distinctly contemporary.

The styling, by FAD students, reflected the changing narratives of the collections. Hair and makeup were developed to suit each segment, taking their cues from the ideas behind the work. Accessories were equally considered, forming part of the design rather than simply completing the look. Shoes, bags and other pieces were customised by the design students to complement their collections, with bags and shoes and even jewellery, made by the designers themselves.

The runway show brought together a distinguished jury of representatives from leading fashion and luxury institutions, including Louis Vuitton, Vivienne Westwood, Chalhoub Group, Tory Burch, and Designers & US, alongside the co-founders of FAD Dubai. Their presence marked an important part of the event, as they came together to recognise and celebrate the diversity, creativity, and excellence of emerging talent.
