Course Description

The Advanced Diploma in Editorial Styling course is designed to fully prepare you for one of the most exhilarating & glamorous career paths in fashion styling.

For those of you who already know a thing or two about editorial styling, you may be aware that there is more than one way to break into this vibrant industry. Assisting a reputable fashion stylist or interning at a well-known fashion magazine is traditionally the rite of passage for emerging styling talents, and routes that we endorse here at FAD Institute of Luxury Fashion & Style.

At FAD we believe that nothing compares to a nurturing environment where the focus centers on the tailored career development of our emerging editorial stylists, coupled with editorial work experience in print.

This is because assisting roles or interning at a magazine alone can leave emerging styling talent feeling bewildered with lengthy stints in clothing returns cupboards, and no sight of breaks into actual styling & paid work. Experience & contacts built up over time in assisting, eventually surmount to assistants producing their own editorial test shoots, but this process can take years, & often emerging talent is left to simply pick up styling skills en-route, without any focused or clear development to their styling skill set.

This course is an investment in your editorial career, combining development of editorial ability to an impressive industry standard, with opportunity to begin & progress your career in print during & beyond study. It will fast track your styling development & a name for yourself in industry considerably.

As such, students will be supported to work with some of Dubai's leading PR's, building relationships which enable students to request high-end pre-season samples on loan for publications while on the course. Students work on professional editorial shoots on campus supported by photographers and make up artists from the industry to build a strong portfolio of work.
